Garden Update #what is original
Nothing much in particular happened this week beyond the usual. On Monday (the 18th), we harvested
and as always, the amount of tomatoes vastly outnumbered the amount of zucchini, okra, and pepper.
Summary: everything is doing adequately well except for the all the squash (zucchini, cantaloupe, pink jumbo banana squash) which seem to either be rotting or dying.
One other thing, Ms. Bauer mentioned this thing called neem oil. It apparently can be used as a fungicide, pesticide, and generally does not cause any harm to bees, butterflies, and ladybugs. This would be useful in a garden especially this year, we had issues with bugs and fungi growing on some of our plants (squash). Here are links to two websites that I found that talk about neem oil in case you want to know more. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/pesticides/neem-oil-uses.htm (has information about and how to use neem oil) http://npic.orst.edu/factsheets/neemgen.html (has general information about neem oil). You could probably also just google it.
And that wraps it up this time. See ya next week!
