Morristown Hunger Walk 2017

Yesterday, we went to the Hunger Walk for the Community Soup Kitchen in Morristown!

This year, there were many new freshman faces! :) More and more people were getting involved in the HOPE club which meant spreading more ~hope~ to families in need!

In the morning, the sky was a bit cloudy and we prayed for a rain-less hunger walk. The weather was a lot warmer than last year’s, which was freezing cold. Thankfully, our prayers were answered (bless :) ).

First, we got a group picture of the HOPE squad! This year, the shirts they gave out to everyone were GREEN, which was a bit disappointing because we all know a certain school (that we don’t like) is that color…

After pictures, we got into groups and each received a story card. We got to step in the shoes of families that struggled financially and got to learn what they went through. As we walked around the neighborhood, we got to stations that gave us more cards that added on to the story. In the final station, the last story card explained how the Community Soup Kitchen and other organizations helped provide relief to families. They raised a lot of awareness about the lives of less fortunate people that live in poverty.

Ultimately, the Hunger Walk was a success! In unity, the HOPE club demonstrated support and worked together to make a difference in the lives of local families.
