It has Begun
If you didn't attend today's HOPE Club meeting, well, you missed out on the first (after planning) step we took towards this year's garden. That's right!! Today we started to germinate the seeds! A LOT of preparation went into this: Stacey made a beautiful map of the garden that included measurements of all the garden boxes; she also created a spreadsheet about all the seeds we have (everyone helped to fill it out); we planned out what we wanted to plant; we figured out a good date to start; and we moved the gardening supplies (at least some of them) out of the basement. There is a big variety of plants that we want to try this year and it should definitely be interesting, if not successful. For today, we planted: broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, kale, lettuce, pepper, and tomato!

It was super productive at the meeting and the gardening season has begun! The process was a big messy, but we cleaned up after ourselves. There was potting soil almost everywhere!
I'm pretty sure there's already a blog post about the process of planting the seeds, however, if one doesn't exist, I'll definitely mention how in the next post. Thank you to everyone that was there today for your hard work and keep your eyes peeled for the next meeting date.
Until next time!
