Growing with Time
Hey hey! My name is Vanessa and I'm a junior doing a GT in hydroponics. My mentor is the one and only Mrs. Paulson. <3 But first, I'd like to give a little background about myself and my passion for plants.
Growing up with my grandma, she had a lovely flower garden that she tended to daily in the summer and the beauty of nature started to take seed in me. Through hiking, tending to flowers, and trying delicious produce at farmer markets, I've developed quite the interest in gardening! Over quarantine, my dad and I decided to start growing a little garden in the backyard; man has it been a journey! Both of us have learned quite a bit and I can't wait to learn more. One day I hope to be able to walk around my house or backyard and be able to snack on some fruit or veggie.
Gardening at School
This summer was the first time working with the soil in the school! With the help of Ananya, Mrs. Paulson, Mr. Adams, and a few others, I've gotten to know a lot more about the soil. As well as tons of possible tomato fungi that can affect tomatoes.
There's definitely a learning curve to growing in a new environment. During the summer it was quite hard to get to the garden and work with the schedule that fit everyone. As well as the little rain and strange weather we had this summer. Suffice it is to say that I can't wait for this spring season!
I look forward with working with everyone in the garden and growing together!
(This is my first blog but I can't wait to blog my journey and share it with you!)
~I'll definitely go into depth about my GT in my next blog.
