Introducing Operation Holiday HOPE (OHH)
This holiday season, HOPE Club has seen some major changes as a result of the pandemic and external circumstances. Operation Holiday Child is now Operation Holiday HOPE, and donations this year were given to Project Kind, a NJ based organization that supports homeless individuals in the tri-state area.
To ensure the safety of our members as well as the efficiency of our drives, this year's collection was a
collaboration between herLIFT, Peer Positivity Project (PPP), and Operation Holiday HOPE (OHH). The drives were split to serve 3 major demographics: men, women, and children/gender-neutral individuals. herLIFT was responsible for the women's drives while OHH took charge of the other collection.
The Medical Club also contributed several books through their immensely successful book drive, which were added to the donations.
Once all the donations were organized, OHH and PPP hosted a socially distanced packing party!
With holiday music playing in the background, HOPE Club members packed festive gift bags with essentials and toys. By the end of the day, there were a total of 45 bags ready to be gifted (a new record!).
Despite the several changes brought on by this year, the OHH drives were a major success due to the efforts of HOPE Club members and the Morris Hills community.
