Yet Another Update

So after vacation, Nicole and I come back to the garden and it has EXPLODED! Well not every plant (looking at you cantaloupe) but LOOK AT THE ZUCCHINI!!

wtf zucchini

Not to mention the actual zucchini themselves...

Its amazing how much the garden has grown. The pink jumbo banana squashes has changed to a lighter color and much larger size.

In contrast the cantaloupe hasn't changed that much though we're still hopeful that it will sprout by the time school starts.

The tomatoes are almost the same height as me now. (-_-) Although, despite their growth, the tomatoes (in the picture) have not yet become ready for harvest as they remain green.

But that doesn't mean that all of the tomatoes are unripe. Once a tomato is fully red (a little orange is okay but not too much) then it is ready to be picked!!

While we're on the topic of tomatoes, remember the tomato infestation in the okra. Well. It happened again. It's kind of hard to pick out in the picture, however the tomato leaves and yellow flowers are unmistakable. There is definitely at least one tomato plant in the "weed boxes". Neither of us have a clue why these plants keep popping up since we didn't plant them. At least we'll have plenty of tomatoes!!

The pepper, as a whole, have grown but haven't further developed. Ditto for the okra. A reminder for next year is to as soon as we notice a stray tomato plant, to cage it. Otherwise they don't have any constraints or structure to grow off of. If it isn't done fast enough (like this year) the plant grows too big to be able to easily fit the cage over it.

The garden overall has shown tremendous progress and its only the beginning of August!
