A Monday Harvest

Harvest 11/4/19

I know what you are all thinking: Green tomatoes!!! Isn't that not good!!! Well I am here to correct this misconception!

While it is true that these green tomatoes are unripe, that does not mean that they cannot be consumed. Although green potatoes are a completely different story and you should definitely stay away from those. The most glaring differences between green tomatoes and "regular" red (or yellow/orange) tomatoes is the color and the taste. In fact, green tomatoes can be used just like "regular" tomatoes are! You can make them into salsa, fry them, use them as toppings on pizza, and more.

Aside from irregular tomatoes, you might also have noticed those weird green spherical shapes scattered among the broccoli florets. That's right! We harvested some brussel sprouts! Currently, or I guess before we harvested today, there was not really a lot of brussel sprouts ready to be harvested because all of the ones we harvested today were merely on one plant. However, that just means that we'll be able to harvest from the rest of the plants in the near future.

Until next time!
